What we do
Coastal Mountain Search and Rescue (CMSAR) is one of the numerous volunteer teams dedicated to offering search and rescue missions throughout the state. With proficiency in both ground search operations and specialized high-angle rescue techniques, our team is a part of the Maine Association for Search and Rescue (MASAR) and can be mobilized by the Maine Warden Service or various local emergency response organizations. To ensure readiness, CMSAR keeps equipment stored at the Lincolnville fire station.

Who we are
Our team is made up of a diverse range of individuals, including carpenters and climbers, educators and ski patrollers, public safety workers and elected officials, boatbuilders, and firefighters. Despite our varied backgrounds, we are united by a shared love for the Maine wilderness and a commitment to aiding our community members when they require assistance.
